Sheridan Education Foundation’s annual fundraiser set for Aug. 1
Submitted

Sheridan Education Foundation Inc.’s annual Jeep Invasion is rolling in on Saturday, Aug. 1. This event supports Sheridan Community Schools one classroom or one Jeep at a time. This unforgettable afternoon will be the foundation’s third.
This event is more than just a gathering for Jeep lovers, but is actually a fundraiser that benefits the Sheridan Education Foundation. One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly back to the Sheridan classrooms through the educator grants that the foundation sponsors. So this “invasion” is actually an opportunity for the entire community to come together for a great cause. There is even fun planned for everyone at any age.
Due to construction on State Road 47, this year the Jeep Invasion will cover a new route. The Jeep parade will travel through Skylake Adventure Park, then continue down Main Street in Sheridan at 3:30 p.m. before ending at the high school. Jeep lineup begins at 1 p.m. in the high school parking lot, and the parade will leave at 3 p.m. Jeeps will be judged in several categories before the parade. Participants can register at SheridanJeepInvasion.com. Registered participants will even receive a T-shirt, a swag bag, gift cards, and other items.
Events open to the public at 2 p.m., with spectator parking available in the Sheridan Middle School lot. Activities at the high school will include a DJ, several vendors, a silent auction, food booths, a free KidZone with inflatables, dunk tank and carnival games, and a performance by the Bishops Band from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Admission to the event is free. Tents will be set up in front of the stage and in the food court area, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. After the parade, visitors are invited to view the Jeeps in the high school parking lot.
