GC stays perfect

Guerin Catholic kept its undefeated start to the season rolling on Friday, beating New Castle 66-61 at the Trojans’ famed gymnasium.
The Golden Eagles got off to a fast start, leading 15-5 before New Castle cut that advantage to 15-12 by the end of the first quarter. The Trojans led 32-31 at halftime and 47-45 after three periods, but Guerin came back to win with a 21-point fourth quarter.
Joseph Bobilya had another incredible performance, scoring 34 points, including four 3-pointers. Kaleb Edwards added 19 points, making both of his 3-point attempts. Matthew Gillis led the rebounds with eight.
The Golden Eagles are 3-0 for the season. Guerin Catholic’s game with Hamilton Heights that was scheduled for tonight has been postponed; GC’s next game is Saturday, Dec. 12 at Muncie Central.
