GC boys beat Lions for third straight win

Guerin Catholic picked up its third consecutive win on Tuesday, beating a solid Liberty Christian team 68-58 at the Eagles Nest.
The Golden Eagles led 19-14 after the first quarter, then extended their lead in the second period, going up 37-25 by halftime. Guerin Catholic then led 55-36 after three quarters. The Lions cut into GC’s lead in the fourth quarter, but the Golden Eagles were able to stay firmly in control.
Will Grissom had an outstanding game, scoring 31 points and collecting seven rebounds. Two more Guerin Catholic players reached double figures: Kamea Chandler added 11 points and Lucas Parker contributed 10 points. Jack Cherry and Patrick Baird both collected five rebounds and Robert Sorensen handed out four assists.
The Golden Eagles are 9-6 and host Lafayette Central Catholic Friday in a girls-boys doubleheader.
