July 10, 1943 – January 21, 2025
Franklin “Frankie” Lee Crider, a lifelong lover of laughter, family, and the great outdoors, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the age of 81. He was born on July 10, 1943, to the late William and Mamie (Sullivan) Crider.
Frankie spent 54 glorious years of marriage to his one and only, Dorcas (Trout) Crider, whom he married on June 20, 1971. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories, most of which included Franklin’s infamous sense of humor and love for being the center of attention. Franklin was the type of person who never met a stranger and was known to light up any room with his personality.
Frankie had a fulfilling career, retiring as a Foreman for INDOT. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: fishing, hunting, and camping with Dorcas and the family, and, of course, spending quality time with his beloved dogs, RJ and Gordy. Above all else, Franklin was a family man and loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Dorcas Crider of Tipton, Ind., and his many loved ones who will miss his infectious laugh, corny jokes, and ever-present love. Frankie was preceded in death by his parents.
