From 11 a.m. to just after 1 p.m. Thursday, more than 200 people gathered at IMMI Conference Center, 18880 N. East St., Westfield, to listen to Holocaust survivor Frank Grunwald talk about his experience surviving the Terezin ghetto and three concentration camps, including Auschwitz, after the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia when he was a child.
No text summary of this event would do even the one-hour synopsis of Grunwald’s story justice, but for those who would like to learn more, his life story became the 2012 documentary Misa’s Fugue.
Thursday’s event was a special presentation of the Westfield Chamber of Commerce, sponsored by The Hamilton County Reporter and The Zulu Group at Keller Williams Indy Metro North. Student tables from Westfield High School, Guerin Catholic High School and Coram Deo Academy in Carmel were sponsored by Pemberton Insurance, TruWerks and Community First Bank of Indiana.
