As expected, a large number of Hamilton County track and field athletes received callbacks to Tuesday’s Lafayette Jefferson regional after their performances at the Hamilton Southeastern sectional this past Tuesday.
A total of 40 county athletes advanced to the next round of the post-season. That includes eight each from Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern, seven from Carmel and six from Westfield. Noblesville received five callbacks, with Hamilton Heights getting four. Guerin Catholic’s Kori Dues got a callback in the high jump, while University’s Abby Hannon received one in the shot put.
The performance list for the regional was published on the IHSAA website on Wednesday. Noblesville is the top seed in the 4×800 relay, with Ally Elsbury listed first in the 100 hurdles. Kiana Siefert is top-seeded in the 300 hurdles and second in the 100 hurdles.
Carmel freshman Olivia Cebalo has the first seed in the 400 dash, with the Millers’ Summer Rempe and Brinkley Cooper listed as 1-2 in the 800 run. Guerin Catholic’s Bridget Gallagher is the top seed in the 3200 run, and Carmel is seeded No. 1 in the 4×400 relay.
Fishers’ Ella Scally has the top seed in the long jump, with Hamilton Heights’ Kelsey Smith rated first in the high jump. Noblesville’s Hannah Alexander is top-seeded in the discus.
