Dear Editor:

I have known Jessica Paxson since we were both recently out of law school working for the same firm. We worked in an intense, high-stress environment and she was able to manage that situation very well. I know she is a smart, hardworking, ethical attorney.

Shortly after I left the firm, my eight-year-old son, Luke, died of a lung disease. Jessica was extremely kind and supportive of my family during that difficult time. She is a wonderful friend and great person to have in your corner when going through difficult situations.

Since that time, she has worked as a prosecutor including the last seven years in the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office. I have learned a lot from her about the complexity and difficulty of successfully prosecuting certain types of crimes, like domestic violence and sex crimes.

Obviously, technology and ways of collecting and using forensic and digital evidence are always changing and improving. Jessica has worked to stay current on these changes as someone who practices in those areas. I am very confident that she brings the most relevant and useful experience to the job of Hamilton County Prosecutor. I can also attest to her skill as an attorney and excellent moral character.
