The Fishers swim team began its season Monday with a split against Zionsville at the Tigers’ aquatic center.
The Fishers girls won 110-76, taking seven of the 12 events. Jo Jo Ramey finished first in the 50 and 100 freestyles, while Nalanie Cortez took the 200 free and butterfly races. Ramey and Cortez also joined Kalli Agapios and Avery Stein to win the 200 free relay. Gretchen Osmun won the diving and Kate Mouser placed first in the 500 free.
The Tigers’ boys team fell in a close meet to the Eagles, 94-91. Sebastian Otero won the diving event with a new school record of 320.55 points over six dives. Kyle Ponsler was first in the 200 and 100 freestyles, then teamed with Connor Carlile, Reed Beamont and Daniel Bennett to win the 200 free relay.
