Fishers sweeps Hoosier Crossroads Conference meet

The Fishers swim teams swept the Hoosier Crossroads Conference meet, which took place Thursday at the Indiana University Natatorium in downtown Indianapolis.

The Tigers girls team scored 449.5 points, just ahead of runner-up Zionsville’s 408. Avery Stein led Fishers with two events wins, placing first in the individual medley and the breaststroke. The Tigers won four additional events, with Emily Wolf pacing the butterfly, Emma Schumacher taking the 500 free, and Fishers also winning the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Hamilton Southeastern placed third with 371 points. The Royals opened the meet with a victory in the medley relay, and Kiley Zoeller also placed first in the 50 free.

Noblesville finished fourth by scoring 371 points; Eryn McMahon won the diving event. Westfield scored 167.5 points to take seventh; the Shamrocks’ 400 free relay took sixth, as did Kate Cassidy in the 500 free.

Fishers’ boys team won going away, scoring 480 points to runner-up Zionsville’s 324. The Tigers won seven events, including two double individual winners: Jonny Hines was first in the 200 and 500 freestyles, while Alex Koo won the 50 free and butterfly, the latter event being a 1-2 finish for Fishers. Victor Herbert was second in that event.

The Tigers also went 1-2 in diving, with Jack Roby winning and Jack Schade taking second. Eduardo Sanchez was first in the IM and Fishers also won the 400 free relay.

Southeastern picked up three wins while placing third as a team with 293 points. The Royals opened the meet with a medley relay victory, then Jihoon Jung was first in the backstroke and Collin Huston took the breaststroke.

Noblesville placed third as a team with 258.5 points. The Millers got two third-place finishes from Aiden Kless in diving and Anthony Mathis in the breaststroke. Westfield was eighth with 159 points; Bennett Morse took fourth in the 100 free.
