Fishers police arrest man suspected of breaking into vehicles

At approximately 3 a.m. last Friday, an alert resident in the 13900 Block of Wimbleton Way, Fishers, called 911 to report a suspicious man near his home.

As police arrived in the area, they observed a vehicle leaving the area. Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver. During the initial conversation officers observed a handgun and a women’s purse in plain sight. Further investigation revealed the suspect had entered multiple vehicles in the neighborhood and stolen property from two of those vehicles. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

The suspect is Roman Menossi, 20, Fishers. He has been charged with two counts of theft, a Class A misdemeanor, and two counts of Unauthorized Entry into a Vehicle, a Class B misdemeanor. A charge is merely an accusation, and the arrested person(s) is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Officers were able to successfully return the stolen property. Police also recovered one handgun from the suspect’s vehicle.

Police thank the resident who immediately reported the suspicious activity. Police remind residents to remove all items of value, especially guns, from unattended vehicles.
