Join the Fishers Freebirds this month as they celebrate National Senior Citizens Day at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18 under the tent at the Historic Ambassador House at Heritage Park, 10598 Eller Road, Fishers.
Guest speaker Abraham Lincoln (portrayed by Danny Russel) will recount hilarity, heartbreak, humanity, and brilliant speeches as he traces his amazing journey from a log cabin to the White House. Learn about his youth in Indiana (age 7 to 21), where frontier life was precarious, disease a constant companion, and death a hovering presence.
In 1988, President Ronald Reagan established National Senior Citizens Day in honor of senior citizens in the U.S. who made positive contributions in their communities. This event is free, and no registration is required.
