The Fishers Farmers’ Market, hosted by Fishers Parks and presented by IU Health Saxony, will kick off the 2020 season with an online market beginning Saturday, May 2, in response to COVID-19. During this challenging time, it is more important than ever that we invest in our local food system and support the small businesses in our community.
Ranked one of the top farmers’ markets in the region, the Fishers Farmers’ Market showcases vendors from Central Indiana that offer fresh produce, baked goods, honey, specialty food items, meats, cheeses, coffee, plants and more. Juried to the strictest standards, the market offers fresh, local, flavorful foods direct from farmers and producers.
The Fishers Farmers’ Market will operate through online ordering with home delivery or onsite pickup throughout May, and depending on the COVID-19 situation, will continue with the online model or revert to an in-person market at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater for the reminder of the season. The market season runs through September.
Online ordering will be available Sundays, beginning at 9 a.m. on April 26, through noon on Wednesdays. A maximum of 400 orders will be accepted per week – 100 orders for home delivery and 300 for onsite pickup. Shoppers can pick up their items from Holland Park on Saturday mornings between 8 a.m. and noon. Cars will park in numbered spots upon arrival and message Fishers Parks staff at (317) 430-7509 for pickup. Staff will bring out items and place in trunk to avoid contact with shoppers. Pickups must be done in cars – no pedestrian or bicyclists will be permitted to pick up items.
The market is just one of the virtual programs offered by Fishers Parks during this period of social distancing. Fishers Parks is offering daily, at-home activity suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, along with virtual group programs such as Mario Kart 8 eSport Tournament from 5 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday.
For more information and a list of vendors, visit the Fishers Parks’ website, and be sure to follow the market on Facebook and Instagram for the latest news.
