Fishers falls to one of Chicago’s top teams

The Fishers girls basketball team got a chance to go up against one Chicago’s top teams Thursday at the Grow the Game Showcase, which took place at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Ill.

The Tigers played Mother McAuley in their game and gave the Mighty Macs a battle before falling 65-58. McAuley led 17-12 after one quarter and were up 30-25 at halftime, then led 44-38 after three periods.

Talia Harris played an outstanding game for Fishers, totaling 29 points. Harris scored in every quarter, including 12 points in the fourth period to keep the Tigers close; she was named the Fishers Player of the Game afterwards. Morgan Roberts drained three 3-pointers on her way to 11 points and Allison Scheu scored 10.

The Tigers are 11-5 and host North Central on Saturday.
