On Monday, March 30, Fishers Democratic City Councilor Bill Stuart endorsed Geist area resident Catherine Torzewski, a local Realtor, small business owner, and mother of two, for Indiana Senate District 31.

“Catherine’s involvement in our community and genuine connection with voters reflect a deep understanding of the issues that matter most,” Councilman Stuart said. “I have no doubt she will continue her work at the Statehouse to bring a true voice for her constituents. Her passion for public schools and access to affordable healthcare is evident in every conversation. She’s an expert in housing in central Indiana and runs a successful business. She will bring real solutions to bringing down the cost of living. Senate District 31 will have a dedicated advocate in Catherine Torzewski.”

Torzewski grew up on the east side of Indianapolis and credits her upbringing with forming her sense of community pride. Her mother was a local librarian, and her father was a union member of Sheet Metal Workers, Local 20. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Indianapolis in 2005.

Torzewski is heavily involved in the MIBOR Association, serving on various committees and participating in the MIBOR Real Estate Academy of Leadership. She is a successful Central Indiana Realtor and owner of a small business focused on investment properties.

Torzewski is committed to her community outside of her career as well. She sits on the Lawrence Township School Foundation Board. She also volunteers with her local Moms Demand Action chapter in which she advocates for commonsense gun laws such as safe storage and the Jake Laird Law.
