Fishers boys improve to 2-0

Fishers easily picked up its second win of the season Tuesday, sailing past Indianapolis Metropolitan 77-47 at the Tiger Den.
The Tigers started slowly, leading the Pumas 9-7 after the first quarter. But Fishers got going after that, scoring at least 21 points in each of the next three periods. Jeffrey Simmons had seven in the second quarter, while Jalan Haralson and Payton Weemer both had six points, helping the Tigers to a 30-20 halftime lead.
Haralson took over in the third period by scoring nine points, while Sean Millsaps threw in two 3-pointers. Fishers led 53-38 after three quarters, then ran away with the fourth by outscoring Metropolitan 24-9. Charlie Smith scored eight points, and the Tigers went 6-of-7 from the free-throw line during the period.
Smith and Haralson each finished with 15 points, while Simmons scored 13.
Fishers is 2-0 for the season and hosts Noblesville Friday to begin Hoosier Crossroads Conference play.
