On Saturday, March 14, the Carmel Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4444 proudly hosted its annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration at the Brockway Public House in Carmel, bringing the community together for a day of fun, camaraderie, and an important cause since 2008.

The event raised funds for the Local 4444 Bereavement Fund, an effort dedicated to supporting the families of firefighters during times of loss and hardship.

“This is a great event for our firefighters that goes to directly benefit them during a time of need, and we are grateful Kevin and Lainey Paul of Brockway Pub for this partnership,” L4444 President Sean Sutton said.

What better way for firefighters to celebrate than by giving back and taking care of its own? Across the fire service, cancer rates continue to rise at an alarming pace, making it more important than ever to support one another and strengthen the bonds that make the fire service family so unique. Events like this not only raise critical funds but also provide an opportunity for firefighters, families, and community members to come together in a positive and uplifting atmosphere.

This year’s event carried special meaning, as more than one of their own members is currently battling cancer. The support shown throughout the day was a powerful reminder that no firefighter stands alone when facing life’s toughest challenges.

The celebration kicked off at noon with live music from The Ian Reppert Experience, who energized the crowd and set the tone for a great afternoon. Attendees then enjoyed classic firehouse-style competitions, including a pumper pull and a keg toss, both of which drew enthusiastic participation and plenty of cheers from the crowd.

From start to finish, the day was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and strong community spirit. Thanks to everyone who attended, volunteered, and supported the event. It truly was a great day for a great cause, and a reminder that the strength of the fire service lies in the way we stand together – on and off the job.
