Final chance to celebrate history of Jackson Township

Jackson Township has been in the Hamilton County Bicentennial spotlight this month, and this Saturday will be the final set of events highlighting the township, its communities, and its people.

“This has been such a collaboration of people and organizations in our small community that we have planned a VIP ceremony at 10:30 a.m. to recognize all of these efforts,” Jackson Township Deputy Trustee Nicole Duncan said.

The VIP ceremony will run for approximately 30 minutes on Saturday, April 29 at Arcadia Christian Church, 26901 State Road 19.

“We know it’s a busy day with prom, spring sports, and other activities,” Duncan said, “but we hope to see many faces so we can sing their praises and celebrate a job well done!”

Other events planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday include:

  • Mini-parade at noon to include the debut of Jackson Township’s restored original fire engine from 1955
  • Faces & Families free portrait
  • Book signing by epilogue students and Mrs. Davis
  • Art Gallery from Jackson Township residents
  • Hamilton Heights Bicentennial Husky Dog Art Project
  • Videos made by Hamilton Heights students for the Historical Tour and the Lantern Walk
  • Fire department touch a truck event after the parade
  • Kid’s activity area
  • Hamilton County Bicentennial Traveling Exhibit
