FEMA to open Mobile Registration Intake Center

Flood survivors can get in-person help at 4-H Fairgrounds

Hamilton County is holding a FEMA Mobile Registration Intake Center (MRIC) this week to help residents impacted by recent flooding apply for federal disaster assistance.

FEMA representatives will be available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, and Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2003 Pleasant St., Noblesville. No appointment is necessary. The MRIC will provide residents with one-on-one assistance completing their applications, answering questions about the registration process, and confirming applications have been submitted correctly.

“We know the FEMA process can feel overwhelming, particularly for people who are already dealing with the loss of their homes, belongings, or sense of normalcy,” says Chad Knecht, Executive Director of Emergency Operations for Hamilton County. “We want to remove as many barriers as possible to getting people the help they need.”

Applicants are encouraged to bring their Social Security number, insurance information, information about damage to their property, financial and contact information, and direct deposit information if they would like assistance deposited directly into their bank account.

Residents do not have to visit the Mobile Registration Intake Center to apply. Applying online at DisasterAssistance.gov is the fastest option. A Spanish-language application is available at DisasterAssistance.gov/es.

Residents who cannot get to the Intake Center and do not have the ability to apply online should call the Hamilton County Flood Relief Hotline at (317) 645-3261. County staff will work with callers to identify barriers and determine how they can assist.

Register, ask questions, and let FEMA make that determination.”
