Conservative Republican Max Engling released the following statement on Monday after Congresswoman Victoria Spartz reversed her decision to retire and announced that she would once again seek to represent Indiana’s 5th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives.

His statement follows.

Hoosiers deserve a conservative fighter who is truly willing to hold the line on their behalf … even in the face of difficult times. Hoosiers want someone who will work hard and understands representing them in Congress is a privilege not to be taken for granted. I believe in steadfast representation and will continue my unwavering commitment to our shared conservative principles – when I make a promise, you can trust it … Decisive conservative leadership means standing your ground when it comes to reducing the debt, fighting for Indiana families, and getting America back on track. I’m in this race to win and the Congresswoman’s latest announcement makes me more committed than ever to stay in this race, trust the Lord, and fight for family-first policies.
