Last week, Republican candidate for Indiana’s Fifth Congressional District Max Engling signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.

The pledge guarantees that as a congressman, he will oppose any and all tax increases. Engling is the first candidate in this race that has signed the pledge, and he said he plans to lead by example on this issue.

“Hardworking Americans are already being hurt by inflation and the rising cost of living, affecting everything from food to gas to healthcare,” Engling said. “The last thing they need is increased federal taxes. This is your hard-earned money, and I am proud to be the first candidate here in the 5th Congressional District to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge opposing all new taxes.”

Engling concluded by saying, “I am committed to eliminating the Estate Tax and renewing President Trump’s Tax Cuts & Jobs Act before it expires in 2025. Thank you to Americans for Tax Reform for continuing to champion this important issue.”
