The Encore Center will hold the second annual Run, Walk, & Roll 5K aimed at raising funds and awareness for the vital programs that support senior citizens in Tipton and surrounding communities. The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Tipton City Park, 550 Tipton Park Road.
As the senior population continues to grow, it’s crucial they have the resources they need to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. The Run, Walk, & Roll 5K is a family-friendly event that encourages participants of all ages and abilities to get moving while supporting a great cause. This means bring your stroller or mobility device along as well.
Registration costs $30 for the 5K and $15 for the Fun Run. All proceeds will go directly to programs for seniors. Visit encorecenter.org/fit-for-life-5k to sign up.
Participants can choose between running or walking the 5K course, making it accessible for everyone. Prizes will be awarded for various categories, including overall winners, and age group divisions.
In addition to the race, attendees can look forward to refreshing snacks and learning more about the Encore Center and what all we do for seniors in the area.
“We are excited to host this event to make a positive impact on the lives of senior citizens,” Encore Center Cara Kellerman said. “With the funds raised from the Run, Walk, & Roll 5K, we aim to enhance our programs that provide essential services, such as enrichment programs, companionship, and transportation. Together, we can ensure our seniors feel valued and supported.”
