Tipton city officials announced Tuesday, April 14 that Encompass Credit Union has pledged $100,000 to the Tipton Baseball Project, becoming the third field sponsor supporting the city’s new community baseball complex.

The commitment represents another significant investment from a local organization in a project that will expand opportunities for youth athletics and recreation in Tipton for years to come.

Encompass Credit Union joins the IU Health Tipton Medical Staff and the Tipton County Foundation in making $100,000 commitments toward the project, demonstrating strong community support from organizations across Tipton.

“Projects like this move forward because of partners who believe in investing in their community,” Mayor Kegan Schmicker said. “Encompass Credit Union has long been committed to the people of Tipton, and their support of this project will help create a place where young athletes can develop their skills and families can come together around the game of baseball.”

The Tipton Baseball Project, which broke ground on March 25, includes the construction of a new multi-field baseball complex designed to serve youth leagues in the community. Planned amenities include:

  • A 350-foot Babe Ruth Diamond
  • A 200-foot Cal Ripken Diamond
  • A dedicated Pee Wee Diamond
  • Concession and restroom facilities
  • Spectator seating and public amenities

“Tipton has meant so much to Encompass and has been a monumental part of making Encompass what it is today,” Encompass Credit Union CEO Josh Frawley said. “We knew the importance of this project to the citizens of Tipton and wanted to show our dedication to the community by joining in the efforts to get baseball fields back in Tipton for its youth. Sports are integral to the fabric of Tipton and we couldn’t be more excited to continue to support the City of Tipton, just as we will strive to continue to support all of the communities that Encompass serves.”

Encompass Credit Union’s commitment represents the third $100,000 field sponsorship secured through the city’s Home Field Advantage campaign. Support from local partners has played an important role in strengthening the overall project and ensuring the facility reflects the pride Tipton has in its youth baseball programs.

“Projects like this are only possible when a community comes together behind a shared vision,” Schmicker added. “We’re grateful for organizations like Encompass Credit Union that continue to invest in opportunities for our youth and families.”
