Eagles stun NHS girls

The Noblesville girls basketball team dropped a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game at Zionsville Friday night, by the score of 44-33.
The Eagles, ranked No. 16 in the IBCA poll, stunned the Millers (No. 6 IBCA, No. 4 in the IGCSA Class 4A poll) in the first quarter by jumping out to a 10-2 lead. Ashlynn Shade had Noblesville’s lone basket. Zionsville kept rolling in the second period, taking a 26-9 lead into halftime.
The Millers tried to make a comeback in the third quarter, cutting the lead to 30-22. But the Eagles held on in the fourth to clinch the win.
Reagan Wilson and Shade both finished with 10 points, with Shade collecting 11 rebounds for a double-double. Shade announced on Wednesday that she had committed to play for the University of Connecticut.
Meredith Tippner pulled 10 rebounds, while Brooklyn Smitherman had six rebounds and two blocked shots.
Noblesville is 3-3 in the conference and 15-4 overall. The Millers host Harrison Tuesday.
