Duke Energy
A group of Duke Energy employees donated their time to the Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) during a company volunteer event Wednesday.
The group worked alongside approximately 60 other individuals who volunteer at the humane society on a daily basis.
Jennifer Hatcher, director of development at HSHC, says the nonprofit utilizes 70 to 90 volunteers a day to ensure facilities stay clean and animals receive the love and care they need. The organization received over 4,000 animals in 2021.
Susan Wilde, a longtime Duke Energy employee and HSHC advocate, spearheaded the volunteer event.
“As someone who has adopted from the Humane Society for Hamilton County, I know what a difference volunteers make,” Wilde said. “The Humane Society for Hamilton County has an extremely dedicated volunteer base and Duke Energy was happy to be a small part of that today.”
