Luminaries: Mónica M. Muñoz: The Identity of a Dancer
Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m.

Puerto Rican professional dancer, teacher, choreographer, and director Mónica M. Muñoz will share the story of how heritage, culture, tradition, lived experiences and external factors work to shape and define identity. She will share photographs, videos and stories depicting her Cuban mother’s and Ecuadorian father’s journey to Puerto Rico and how she eventually made her way to Indianapolis, all driven by her passion and love for dance.

Uptown: Motown Remixed

From New York City, the epicenter of contemporary pop and soul, Uptown is a group that combines the smooth stylings of classic R&B with the fresh hits of today – the perfect mix of Bruno Mars-caliber stage presence with the vocals of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. Each member of the collective is a soloist, bringing a unique flavor that will have any crowd on its feet dancing and singing along. Regardless of the genre or era of music, Uptown exudes freshness and fun in a way that everyone will enjoy.

Peanut Butter & Jam: Musical Conexion
Saturday, Sept. 30 at 10:30 a.m.

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, make joyful connections through the universal language of music with Musical Conexion. This fun-filled, bilingual cultural experience is designed for both Spanish-speaking and non-Spanish-speaking families alike, with songs, movements and finger plays in Spanish and English accompanied by real instruments like guitar and cajón peruano. Cote Godoy of Chile and Kelsi Lee of Indiana are active musicians and experienced educators who create a fun, accepting, encouraging and inclusive atmosphere for everyone!

Designed for children aged 1 to 7, Peanut Butter & Jam sessions encourage young children to become engaged in the arts.
