Amidst a month full of activities and festivities, don’t forget to stop and smell the peonies from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, May 21 at Noblesville’s Seminary Park, 350 S. 10th St.
More than 50 vendors offering peony-inspired art, decor, food and beverages, as well as plants and stems will be positioned throughout the park. A shuttle bus will run continuously to designated lots around Noblesville, including The Levinson, 868 Maple Ave., and the Hamilton County Parking Garage, 225 N. 9th St. Parking is also available at Church Church Hittle + Antrim, 48 N. 10th St., and Mill Top Banquet and Conference Center, 802 Mulberry St.
A “bouquet-off” begins at noon with some of the area’s favorite florists competing for petal perfection while growers (including attendees) can submit their favorite stem for judging as well; winners will be announced at 3 p.m. Education classes in the afternoon include “Handtied Bouquets” and “Peonies 101.”
Musical entertainment begins at 10 a.m. with Kelly Yates followed by Copperpot from noon to 4 p.m. Kids activities include free airbrushed tattoos from Fabulously Fun; arts and crafts classes will also be available at varying prices from Caravan Classics, including paintable paper peonies, peony mini canvas and easels, peony acrylic pour and a peony 8-by-10 canvas to paint.
Those wanting to get an early start on their peony shopping will have an opportunity at “Peonies in the Park” presented by Duke Energy and Smith’s Jewelers. Tickets are $100 each (get them online here) and include food and beverages from 10 Noblesville dining spots, musical entertainment and take home a commemorative 2022 Indiana Peony Festival poster and tote bag.
Also new to this year’s festival is a Brunch Crawl. For $6 per person (tickets available online), crawlers will receive a Brunch & Blooms button, crawl map, discounted brunch items and special peony promotions at participating retailers. Get your map stamped at two restaurants and three retailers for a chance to win free festival swag. Return maps to Brunch & Bloom sign-in locations (IPF tent at festival or Smith’s Jewelers) or submit via email through the QR code printed on crawl map.
