Don’t be greedy, kids!

Leave some sweets for the scary businessmen

Halloween sure has changed from when I was a kid. The money-making business of Halloween was small and the fun of trick-or-treating was big.

My friends and I would wander through the darkness of our neighborhood well into the night with pillow cases to hold all of the candy we’d collect. These days there are “official” trick-or-treat hours in most communities and they typically start long before the sun goes down. The little goblins and their parents start showing at my door around 5:00 and fade out around 8:00 p.m.

Sigh.

Oh well, I’ll always love Halloween. Happy trick-or-treating, kids!
