On Monday, July 20, the intersection at 116th Street and AAA Way in Carmel fully closed for the construction of the new roundabout. The upgraded intersection will replace the current traffic signal.
To help assist with navigating the Merchants Square and Pointe Parkway area during construction, city officials have provided written directions below.
Detour for 116th Street if you are traveling from west to east:
The posted detour route is indicated in purple.
- Northbound Range Line Road, to
- Eastbound Carmel Drive, to
- Southbound Keystone Parkway
Detour for 116th Street if you are traveling from east to west:
The posted detour route is indicated in gold.
- Northbound Keystone Parkway, to
- Westbound Carmel Drive, to
- Southbound Range Line Road
Detour to access the businesses on the south side of 116th Street at AAA Way and Pointe Parkway:
The posted detour route is indicated in red.
- Southbound AAA Way past Merchants Square (Fed Ex, Harvest Market, Petco, etc.)
- Eastbound on Keystone Way (the road between the Merchants Square and Pana Donuts, Big Red Liquors, etc.)
- Southbound on the road between Pana Donuts and Einstein Bagels
- The median on 116th Street will now have a cut in it, just west of Einstein Bagels
- Eastbound on 116th Street then turn south on to Pointe Drive to access the businesses including McAlister’s Deli, Forum Credit Union, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Charles Schwab, and Mercy Road Church
Detour to access Keystone Parkway from Pointe Parkway:
The detour route is indicated in blue.
- Exit Pointe Parkway area using Pointe Drive to the 116th Street and Keystone Parkway roundabout
