Thanks to the generous sponsors and community support, the inaugural Sheridan Denim and Lace was a success for the Sheridan Youth Assistance Program (SYAP), which raised $9,000 in donations in the sold-out event on June 16 at the Blackhawk Winery. The funds will go directly to SYAP, an organization that provides support services for Sheridan’s at-risk youth and their families. Over 200 attendees raised the $9,000 through sponsorships, a silent auction, games and donations.

Indiana State Police Superintendent, Doug Carter, served as the special guest for the event. Special thanks to John Perrine, Indiana State Police and Sheridan native, who served as the emcee for the event. Live entertainment featured The Hunter Smith Band.

This event would not have been possible without these generous sponsorships: Godby Home Furnishings, Smith’s Jewelers, Biddle Memorial Foundation, The Legacy Fund, First Farmers Bank and Trust, Reynolds Farm Equipment, Krieg DeVault, Norman and Miller Eyecare, Gaylor Electric, Waitt Grain Company, R & T Auto, JBS United, Patton Automotive, Riverview Health, Riverview Health Physicians-Sheridan, Hercules Tires, Mr. & Mrs. Jason Ells, Dr. Kent Erb, Mr. Todd Erb, Keever’s Sheridan Hardware, Mr. & Mrs. Ronnie Sorgius.

SYAP is affiliated with the larger Hamilton County Youth Assistance Program. Its goal is to reach at-risk children through family assistance, tutoring, and mentoring programs, providing services to family and youth to enrich their lives.
