Death by Chocolate fundraiser brings in $35K for Cherish CAC

Over 250 people attended the third annual Death by Chocolate fundraising event on Thursday, Nov. 21 in support of Cherish – Child Advocacy Center, which provides child forensic interviews, abuse prevention education and trauma therapy to hundreds of children and teens in Hamilton and Tipton counties.

The delectable chocolate-filled gala and basket raffle, which took place at The Meeting House at West Clay, grossed over $35,000 through ticket sales, sponsorships, raffle baskets and the wine pull.

A total of 13 chocolatiers and vendors contributed to the event. Once again, the winner of the Favorite Chocolatier was Cretia Cakes. Eight baskets, valued between $400 and $600 each, were also raffled off. Each basket contained premium gift cards for fun experiences, as well as unique items and specialty wines. There was also a wine pull, T-shirt sale, masseuse and a special VIP room. All proceeds go to the cause of helping to keep kids safe, as well as seeking justice, hope and healing for those who have been abused.

“We are so pleased to have had another successful fundraiser this year! People seemed to truly have a wonderful time,” said Cherish Executive Director Wendy Gamble. “It’s fun visiting and tasting the yummy chocolate treats, knowing it is all for a great cause. We are so thankful for our attendees and their generosity.”

Cherish’s Generous Sponsors

Cherish, like all non-profits, could not survive without the generosity of others. In addition to generous vendors, the event benefitted from many amazing, selfless volunteers from Shepard Insurance. This year’s biggest sponsors were George Kristo, Hageman Group, Warsaw Chemical and the Gamble Family Foundation. Countless others donated and sponsored, making this event possible.
