“My family has lived in Noblesville for 20 years,” said Leyda. “My oldest son is a graduate from Noblesville High School, my middle son is a senior at NHS and my youngest son is an eighth grader at Noblesville West Middle School. My entire family is extremely proud of our community and our schools.”

Leyda continued, “Just recently having served as President of Noblesville Youth Baseball, I have a strong desire to continue to serve my community and I care deeply about the youth of Noblesville and ensuring their success toward becoming our future leaders.”

Leyda is running on a platform of safety and security, technology and fiscal responsibility.

“I have a unique experience involving the tragic event of May 25 and to me, safety and security are more than just buzzwords. We must never fail in ensuring our kids have a safe and secure learning environment,” said Leyda. “There are processes and technologies the Board must consider that will help to prevent the next potential tragedy.”

“As an IT Professional, I have a vested interest in the responsible use of technology. Technology is pervasive in our society today and kids start using it at an earlier and earlier age each year. The Board must continually evolve strategic plans that enable students to successfully utilize technology as a learning aid,” added Leyda. “In addition, we must manage and monitor the use of technology, especially how it relates to social networking and cyberbullying to ensure kids are comfortable with the tools and devices they are provided.”

“Fiscal responsibility is one of the keystones of any successful company. A school corporation is no different. We must continue to practice wise budgeting, expense control and timely communications with the taxpayers,” said Leyda. “The state continues to cut funding, which leads to the need to seek out funding through referendums and other creative methods. My experience in business and with successfully running Noblesville Youth Baseball, as a non-profit, positions me well to seek out opportunities to continue to be fiscally responsible while maintaining successful education.”

Leyda is Director of Delivery Management for Microsoft Corporation. He has a Bachelor of Science in engineering (’94 CIMT) from Purdue University. He is Media Director at Family Worship Center in Kokomo.
