Dan’s Fish Fry to benefit food pantry, mission trips

Fishers United Methodist Church will host a Dan’s Fish Fry from 4:15 to 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the church, located at 9691 E. 116th St. (next to Portillo’s and across the street from Top Golf). Food served will include all-you-can-eat fish and chicken strips, plus delicious sides and desserts.

Drive thru service will be available, as well as carry out and dine-in. Cost for adults is $11, for ages 6 to 12 is $6.50 and age 5 and under free. All proceeds will benefit the Fishers UMC Come To Me Food Pantry and Mission Teams.

The Come To Me Food Pantry has been open for 11 years and serves needy families in all of Hamilton County. Half of the pantry clients are from Noblesville, 25 percent from Fishers and the remainder from throughout the county.

In its short history, the pantry has distributed over two million pounds of food, serving over 300 families each month (which requires about 20,000 pounds of food monthly). The pantry is supported by numerous churches and local businesses with food drives and monetary donations.

The Mission Teams travel across the country to provide such needed services as church and residential repair and maintenance. The youth teams have traveled to multiple locations in the United States, and adult teams have gone to Shiprock, N.M., and to Salem, Maine.
