The Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) announces that Antonia Bennett, Tony Bennett’s daughter, has been invited to be the headliner for the second annual Carmel Jazz Festival on Aug. 9 at the Palladium.

However, due to this opportunity, CSO has postponed her April 21 concert.

Bennett has planned a return to Carmel, bringing her jazz trio and dazzling vocals into the same Palladium where the Bennett family magic captivated Carmel in 2014. You will now be able to enjoy an entire set of Bennett’s favorite vocal favorites as part of the Carmel Jazz Festival.

A jazz vocalist, The New York Times hails Bennett’s voice as a blend of Billie Holiday, Rickie Lee Jones, with a hint of Betty Boop. Growing up surrounded by music greats, including her father, Rosemary Clooney, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra, her musical journey began early. After completing her studies at Berklee College of Music, she shared the stage with her father at renowned venues worldwide, including Radio City Music Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the Newport Jazz Festival, and London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Her career highlights include recording “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm” with her father and releasing the critically acclaimed EP Natural in 2010. Her album Embrace Me featured standards like “All of You” and “Nice Work if You Can Get It” earning praise from JazzTimes: “Natalie Cole. Norah Jones. Now, Antonia Bennett can be added to the list of second-generation vocalists with the potential to rival an iconic parent’s pizzazz.”

Recently releasing the single “Right on Time,” Bennett is presently collaborating on new music that showcases her vocal prowess and songwriting skills. Her journey continues as she tours, blending new music and jazz standards.

The Carmel Jazz Festival is a multi-day, multi-stage musical event that is to be held Aug. 9 and 10. Jazz, blues, and R&B artists will be featured along with vendors from the Carmel community. Guests from not only the surrounding areas, but all over the country, will be able to enjoy music, food, and vendors, all in the most beautiful parts of Carmel. Learn more at carmeljazzfest.org.

If you would like to like to keep your tickets to see Antonia Bennett, CSO will forward them to the Aug. 9 concert, or CSO will gladly refund your money. You can contact CSO by calling (317) 844-9717.
