You are invited to a free night of family-friendly comedy on Saturday, Feb. 18 featuring four incredibly funny comedians from across the country. This line-up includes Detroit resident Horace HB Sanders, Christy Condor from Nashville, Tenn., headliner Marty Simpson of Columbia, S.C., and the returning host for the evening from New York, Ross Bennett.

CrossRoads Church at Westfield’s seventh annual Pizza & Punchlines event will take place at the Westfield High School auditorium, 18250 N. Union St. Pizza will be served starting at 6 p.m., followed by the comedy show at 7 p.m.

CrossRoads Church Lead Pastor Eric Lohe believes that free pizza and comedy acts are a perfect mix to bring the community together in a time when so much seems to separate us. Pizza and Punchlines is part of the Westfield church’s “For Our Neighbor” strategy to serve the local community.

Headliner Marty Simpson’s comedy has been featured on ESPN, B.E.T., Nickelodeon, Amazon Prime Video and his DryBar Comedy special. Marty Simpson was a former All-American football player and head high school football coach for nine seasons in South Carolina before becoming a full-time stand-up comedian.

Horace HB Sanders is honored to be the reigning CBS Star Search Comedy Champion with a combined perfect score from live home audience and celebrity judges. He has been featured on numerous networks including ABC’s Detroit 187, BET, Comedy Central, The Word Network, and Pure Flix.

Christy Conder is an educator in Speech and Physical Education. She is a member of the Christian Comedy Association and has recently won Audience Favorite at the Clean Comedy Challenge in Nashville.

Lohe’s longtime high school friend and comedian Ross Bennett will serve as event host. Bennett has developed a brand all his own, which resonates with everyday people who prefer clean humor that is both clever and politics-free. He has been seen on over a dozen television shows including Comedy Central’s Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn, A&E’s Evening At The Improv, and The Late Show with David Letterman.

This summer, CrossRoads Church will also sponsor free home repairs for senior adults, veterans, and families in Hamilton County who need deck or wheelchair repair or construction, interior or exterior painting, or mobile home skirting. Online applications are available at bit.ly/3HCuLWB.

You are also invited to Popcorn & Punchlines, CrossRoads Church’s summer family-friendly free comedy event at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 2 at the IMMI Conference Center, 18880 N. East St., Westfield, featuring six outstanding comedians.
