Cross country: Huskies’ Maria Mitchell wins Hoosier Conference championship

Hamilton Heights’ Maria Mitchell led the way for the Huskies at Saturday’s Hoosier Conference cross country tournament.
Mitchell won the girls race and helped Heights to a third-place team finish. Mitchell finished in a time of 18:25.23. The Huskies scored 95 points, behind champion West Lafayette’s 35 and runner-up Twin Lakes’ 81.
In the boys meet, West Lafayette dominated, placing all seven of its runners in the top eight to score 18 points. Heights placed fourth with 115 points; Price Knowles led the Huskies by taking 14th.
