Track and field athletes across Indiana are preparing for the Hoosier State Relays, which takes place Saturday at Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
The Relays are divided into a small school meet for schools in football classes 1A, 2A and 3A and a large school meet for those in football classes 4A, 5A and 6A. The small schools meet goes first this year, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The large school meet starts at 3:30 p.m.
Hamilton County teams have three top seeds at the Relays, all in the large school division. The Hamilton Southeastern girls are top-seeded in the 4×400 and 4×200 relays, while Fishers’ Tyler Tarter is the lone boys top seed, in the 60 hurdles.
The Hamilton Heights 4×200 relay team is the highest local seed among the girls small school meet, while Guerin Catholic’s 4×800 relay is the county’s highest boys small school seed.
