Conner Prairie invites guests to experience the restorative power of nature through “Forest Therapy” – a unique wellness practice offered along Indiana’s first and only certified Forest Therapy trail.
During the weekend of April 26 and 27, visitors are encouraged to slow down, engage their senses, and reconnect with the natural world during free, guided mini-Forest Therapy sessions. General admission to Conner Prairie is required.
This immersive experience takes place on The Trails at Conner Prairie, which were recently named Indiana’s first and only certified trail through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT). The practice, rooted in mindfulness and intentional engagement with nature, will be led by Conner Prairie’s certified Forest Therapy guide, Michelle Morton.
Free Forest Therapy Mini-Sessions

- Sunday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. (two one-hour sessions geared towards participants ages 16 and up)
- Meeting point: Main entrance gate at Conner Prairie
- General admission is required
“Forest Therapy invites us to slow down and be present with the world around us,” Morton said. “This trail offers a peaceful space for guests to reconnect with nature and themselves in a deeply personal way.”
The Trails at Conner Prairie also feature a self-guided program, available at the trailhead, with a series of prompts designed to help visitors intentionally connect with their surroundings. These invitations encourage participants to move slowly, breathe deeply, and observe the beauty and rhythm of the natural world.
Starting in May 2025, Conner Prairie will offer twice-monthly guided Forest Therapy sessions. Practicing with a trained guide offers deeper engagement, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in the experience and let go of mental distractions.
