The Cicero American Legion Riders are preparing for the 11th annual Battle Ride on Saturday, May 30 in support of Veterans and PTSD awareness.
The annual motorcycle charity ride will begin and end at the Cicero American Legion, 50 Washington Ave. The event raises awareness for PTSD while supporting organizations dedicated to serving Veterans and their families.
For 2026, proceeds from the event will once again benefit Veteran’s Best Friend – Indiana, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that connects veterans and Gold Star Families with rescued companion animals at no cost.
The event will include a scenic motorcycle ride, free-will donation breakfast, raffle prizes, a 50/50 drawing, sponsor recognition, and opportunities for the community to come together in support of local Veterans. (License #: 000276; Ref #: 160340)
Last year’s event raised over $10,000 through the support of riders, local businesses, sponsors, and community members. Organizers hope to continue growing both financial support and public awareness in 2026.
“While the financial impact of the ride is incredibly important, this year we’re especially focused on awareness,” said Allison Hardy, Director of the Cicero American Legion Riders. “We want veterans and their families to know organizations like Veteran’s Best Friend exist and that these resources are available to help those struggling with PTSD, anxiety, and isolation.”
Registration will take place from 8:30 to 10 a.m., with kickstands up at 10 a.m. The cost to participate is $20 per bike; $10 per passenger.
