A total of 41 motorcycles braved the heat on Saturday, Aug. 28 in support of a Motorcycle Run co-sponsored by the Cicero American Legion Riders and the Delta Chapter (Arcadia/Cicero) of Phi Beta Psi Sorority, whose national project is giving yearly grants to physicians and scientists who are diligently working on research to fight cancer.

The run kicked off with a breakfast at the Cicero American Legion (sponsored by First Farmers Bank of Cicero) and the ride included stops at the Fortville American Legion, The Curve restaurant in Alexandria, The Blue Room in Converse, and the Tipton American Legion before returning to Cicero for raffles of two $100 gift cards and numerous donated items.

The heartwarming generosity of everyone involved in the event generated $4,600.

The Legion Women’s Auxiliary followed up the event with a taco bar dinner to raise funds for their support of scholarships for local students.

Delta Chapter has been incredibly blessed to be able to partner with the Cicero American Legion Riders. They are an awesome group who have generous hearts of service and love for God, country and others as they selflessly support veterans, the community, children, and fundraising projects with their time, donations and financial support.

Delta Chapter thanks the following donors for their generosity: First Farmers Bank of Cicero, Comprehensive Financial/David & Christian McGill, Port Cicero, Cicero Market/10 West, Gymies Fitness Center, DarkSide Roasters, Sullivan’s Hardware of Cicero, Edward Jones/Amanda Sylvester of Elwood, The Farmers Bank of Noblesville, Titus Bakery of Atlanta, Harley-Davidson of Kokomo, as well as all of those who attended the event and helped to make it a success.
