On Saturday mornings from May through September, you’ll find Cicero Community Park abuzz with a Farmers Market proudly presented by Cicero Friends of the Park, a nonprofit that assists the Cicero Parks Department in programming, preservation, and improvement of recreational facilities at both Red Bridge and Community Park.
The second season looks to double the number of vendors from last year and broaden what the market has to offer: local produce, meat, honey, flowers, artisan baked goods, handmade items, food trucks, music, and more.
Farmers markets support the local economy and serve as a place to introduce local producers to the community they serve. The market offers a variety of family friendly programming throughout the season, including Kids Markets (May 2), Volunteer Day (May 9) and Touch-A-Truck (May 16), to name a few. More events can be found on their Facebook page (tinyurl.com/CiceroFarmersMarket).
Vendor applications remain open through the season. For more information, email CiceroFarmersMarket@gmail.com or visit CFOTP.org.
The hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, May 2 to Sept. 19.
