Christmas nostalgia coming to Fortville

Beginning Friday, Nov. 8, a new central Indiana holiday attraction rolls into the fir-scented fields of Piney Acres Christmas Tree Farm, 1115 E. County Road 1000 North, Fortville.

Young and old alike will love the new addition, Glimmer Lights presented by Gateway Hancock Health, with hints of a beloved classic featuring a magical 20-minute train ride to the North Pole. Guests will board the Piney Acres Express with a cup of signature hot cocoa and a freshly made holiday cookie as they travel into a glimmering wonderland of twinkle light displays nestled on the 73-acre Hancock County Christmas tree farm. It’s sure to become a beloved family tradition.

“I like to create, share joy, and make people happy,” Piney Acres Farm Owner Rex Zenor said. “When I hear a train, it takes me back to my childhood, when we piled in my mom’s 1961 Mercury Comet and drove around to look at Christmas lights. They were nothing like they are today, but I thought they were the coolest, and they made us so happy. For me, the farm is all about creating memories for families. I always thought having my own train would be the cat’s meow! I’m living my childhood dreams and getting to share it with our guests and that’s so very neat!”

Glimmer Lights is a timed ticketed event and runs Nov. 8 to Jan. 4, 2025, on Thursday through Sunday evenings. Also, Santa will be in his Piney Acres Cabin on select evenings ready for a visit with families. The trackless train seats both adults and children.
