The Cherish Center held its annual breakfast on Nov. 7 at the organization’s new location in Carmel where six Impact Awards were presented to community partners.

The Cherish Center holds an annual breakfast to celebrate the team of community partners, including Hamilton County Department of Child Services, all Hamilton and Tipton counties’ police departments, the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, and donors of the non-profit organization. An important component of the annual breakfast is dedicated to recognizing the individuals who have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact in the fight against child abuse.

The Cherish Center requests team members to nominate individuals who have made a significant impact on child victims and their road to recovery and hope. Each nominee must have worked with Cherish’s team and families for at least five years in order to be considered for the award. This year, five individuals received impact awards.

Individual Impact Awards were presented to: Detective Nathan Biddle (Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department), Detective Tracy Jones (Fishers PD), Lyndzi Thomas (Family Case Manager, DCS), Alexis Rathsack (Family Case Manager, DCS), Detective Patrick Valentine (Carmel PD).

Each individual received high accolades regarding their work to fight against child abuse. One winner was recognized specifically for being: “an advocate for children and … always ensures needs are met within the agency and community.” This same honor can be stated for all of the Impact Award winners as they all go above and beyond for the families and team.

Cherish is grateful for each of these individuals and businesses as they play an integral part in fighting to keep children safe.
