Celebrate spring with wildflower walks

Wander the woods and welcome spring. Nature lovers of all ages can join in guided nature walks to view some of the most diverse varieties of wildflowers in Indiana.

Blatchley Nature Study Club, 125 Boulder Drive, Noblesville, and Teter Organic Farm, 10980 E. 221st St., Noblesville, will hold three different wildflower walks this month.

  • The guided tours at Blatchley will take place anytime between 1 and 5 p.m. on Saturday April 12 and Saturday, April 26.
  • The guided tours at Teter will take place anytime between 1 and 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 27.

Jack-in-the-Pulpit, Dutchman’s Breeches, Blood Root, and canopies of May Apples are a few of the varieties you will enjoy while walking the natural and rustic trails.

“The Wildflower Walk is one of our favorite events of the year,” Emma St. Dennis, Blatchley Nature Study Club vice president. “Especially after a cold winter (and spring), spending an afternoon in the woods is an incredible treat.”

Treat yourself to an hour in the woods on any of these dates and locations. All events are free and open to the public. Although the walking paths are moderate, they are not wheelchair accessible. In the event of lightning or downpours, the event will be cancelled.

Please check Facebook for updates for either location.
