Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation’s (CCPR) Summer Camp Series (SCS) has received reaccreditation from the American Camp Association (ACA), the only nationally recognized organization that sets standards for safety, health, and risk management in camps across the United States.
ACA accreditation is considered the most respected credential in the camp industry. Camps are assessed on a wide range of standards, including health, safety, staff training and risk management. Earning reaccreditation demonstrates CCPR’s ongoing commitment to providing safe, inclusive and enriching summer experiences for youth in the Carmel community.
“This reaccreditation highlights the high standards we maintain across our programs,” ESE/SCS Director Jennifer Brown said. “Our team is dedicated to providing safe, enriching and high-quality experiences for every child who attends our camps.”
Summer Camp Series annually serves over 7,000 camper enrollments. With 13 camp options for ages 5 to 15, ranging from arts and science to nature, campers can explore new hobbies, build friendships, and create lifelong memories.
In addition to ACA accreditation, CCPR has been nationally accredited since 2014 through the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). CAPRA accreditation assesses an agency’s overall quality of operation, management, and community services, giving residents confidence that all aspects of the park system, including camps, are managed following established best practices for parks and recreation.
