Carmel will hold its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 9 a.m. Friday, May 23 at Carmel Clay Veterans Memorial Plaza, located across 3rd Avenue Southwest, west of Carter Green and the Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts.
Mayor Sue Finkam and city officials will welcome the following:
- Artist Development Studio: Delila Seals and Marrialle Sellers
- American Legion Post #155
- Darin Bibeau, Veteran/CEO/podcast host/author
- Carmel Fire Department Honor Guard Pipe and Drum Band
- Carmel High School Musicians: Kennedy Abernathy, Eline Kline, Gwen Stacey, and Connor Suduth
- Carmel Mayor’s Youth Council: Grace Krumsee and Kate Krumsee
- Carmel Middle School Choir directed by Trisha Scheidies
- Crossroads Entertainment: Don Farrell and Tammy Anderson
- George Davis, Carmel Police Department Chaplain
- Keynote speaker Dan Hinze, First Sergeant (Retired) 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne)
- Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #10003
The Memorial Day Ceremony is a special event to honor the brave military personnel who have served and to show gratitude for the sacrifices they have made. All attendees are invited to Carmel VFW Post #10003 immediately following the ceremony for food, music, and fellowship. Veterans eat for free.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend this event. In case of rain, the ceremony will take place at The Studio Theatre, 4 Carter Green.
