Carmel Unified Flag Football team will face off with DeKalb for state championship

The Carmel Unified Flag Football team will play in the state championship game for the first time this weekend. The Greyhounds advanced to state last Saturday after winning the Mooresville regional, where they defeated Bedford North Lawrence 42-22 in the semifinals and Franklin Central 55-32 in the championship game. On Sept. 30, Carmel won the Noblesville sectional, beating Warren Central 72-50, Lawrence Central 50-31 and Hamilton Heights 60-40. The Greyhounds play DeKalb this Saturday for the state championship, which begins at noon at Grand Park.
