Carmel to honor our country’s fallen heroes this Friday

The City of Carmel invites the public to the annual Memorial Day Ceremony to remember those who paid the ultimate price in service to our country.

The service will take place at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 24 at the Carmel Clay Veterans Memorial Plaza located at 800 3rd Ave. SW, across from The Center for the Performing Arts. (Rain location: The Tarkington Theater at The Center for the Performing Arts, 3 Carter Green.)

This year’s participants will include:

  • Actors Theatre of Indiana – Judy Fitzgerald, Cynthia Collins, Julie Lynn Barber and Nathan Perry
  • American Legion Post 155
  • Blair Clark, U.S. Army Veteran
  • Carmel Children’s Choir – ICC directed by Lauren Southard
  • Carmel Fire Department Honor Guard Pipe and Drum Band
  • Carmel Girl Scout Troop #4304
  • Carmel Middle School Choir directed by Trisha Scheidies
  • Claire Baney, Orr Fellowship Chief of Staff and Operations at Folia
  • George Davis, Chaplain, Carmel Police Department
  • Indianapolis Public Safety Pipe Band
  • Keynote speaker Anthony “Tony” Green, President of Carmel City Council
  • Paul Hensel, Trustee, Clay Township
  • Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10003

The City of Carmel’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony is a special event to honor the brave military personnel who have served and to show our gratitude for the sacrifices they have made. A light breakfast is provided, courtesy of Allegion and Just Love Coffee.

This event is free and open to the public.
