The Carmel Mayor’s Youth Council (CMYC) engages high school students in Carmel with the many facets of local government.

The group, comprised of 25 to 35 students who reside in Carmel and attend local high schools, has the shared goal of making a tangible impact on the city during their time in high school. The CMYC, with the support of local government and civic leaders, plan, organize, and implement opportunities and events that allow Carmel youth to develop valuable and transferable leadership skills and organizational knowledge.

Mayor Sue Finkam is accepting applications through March 21. Interested incoming freshmen through incoming seniors are encouraged to apply.

CMYC’s Interview Committee will hold an information session about the council and the application process at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Click here to join the meeting virtually or visit the CMYC webpage for the meeting link.
