Carmel Library supports Kids Coats through winter reading

Readers of all ages will enjoy books and supporting Hamilton County Kids Coats during this year’s Carmel Clay Public Library (CCPL) Winter Reading Program. The program runs begins Dec. 16 and runs through Jan. 31, 2023.

As participants read books, they earn donations of mittens, hats, scarves, and more for the Kids Coats organization. Children who complete the program will also earn a free book to keep, while teen and adult participants will be entered into prize drawings.

“During the past few reading programs, our readers have loved earning donations for organizations like the Humane Society,” West Branch Manager Katherine Huddle said. “Partnering with Hamilton County Kids Coats gives us a new way to make a difference in the community.”

Founded in 2004, Hamilton County Kids Coats oversees the collection and distribution of warm winter clothing to families throughout the county.

Readers may register for the library’s reading program online beginning Dec. 16 through the free Beanstack Tracker app or at carmel.beanstack.com.

A complete list of library events and activities is available at carmelclaylibrary.org/events. The library provides service through its newly reopened Main Library at 425 E. Main St. and through the Joyce Winner West Branch in the Village of WestClay.
