Carmel honoring legacy of Dr. King

Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Monday in Carmel. The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20 at the Tarkington Theater in the Center for the Performing Arts, 3 Center Green.

Join Mayor Jim Brainard and Dee Thornton of the Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Human Relations as they celebrate the life and impact of American Civil Rights Leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Performances by KJI Institute for the Arts, Carmel United Methodist Church Bell Choir and Blair Clark, as well as Indiana African American Authors and representatives from the United Negro College Fund will be on hand to honor Dr. King’s legacy and achievements.

This event is presented by the City of Carmel with sponsorship from Community Health Network.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this free event.
